Many Children we teach God’s word to in our Sunday Schools and Bible Clubs get to hear about Jesus for the first time from us. And after the first time if your structure makes for constant meeting it becomes a once in a week or so thing. Imagine you have an opportunity to eat food just once in a week. I’m sure you’d make it very loaded, balanced and healthy. You will ensure that both the quantity and quality of the food you are eating is what can take you for the week. Now that’s the state of the spiritual diet of many of the children we teach today.

A lot happens in families and at home that it takes very intentional biological parents to create time for Bible learning at home. And what more the societal values for family and child upbringing have dwindled over the years not because these things are no longer important, but because the struggle to make ends meet has generally become tougher. More often than not a parent is made to think and act as though his first responsibility to his children and family is to cater for their financial needs.

Every need of a child is very important but no need can compete or stand above the need to nurture our children spiritually. This is why your office as a childrens teacher is very important to God, to the children and the world generally.

I strongly believe that the renowned terrorists and bandits today making the world restless and unbearable where pupils and students in classrooms. Some probably went to church and met sunday school teachers. Perhaps if they were a little bit more intentional and understood the assignment these ones would have been better formed and definitely turned out to be a great blessing to the World and not a curse.

We must rise and be about this business with all diligence and grace. God is counting on us to lead these little children to Him and we must not slack. We must be willing to give all it takes to ensure that Christ is formed in their lives and that they are saved from perishing.

Own the job, take full spiritual responsibility for the children in your class even if you’re only a school teacher and much more if you are a Children’s Bible Teacher.

Grace Abounds!
